2017 verdict & settlement wins: over $30 Million

Our 2017 verdict & settlement wins totals over $30 Million

Savage, Turner, Pinckney, Savage, & Sprouse partners recall notable wins

SAVANNAH (November 7, 2017) – Heading in to the final lap of 2017, the founding partners take a look back at some of the most notable verdicts and settlements this year.

“Bart’s multi-million dollar strike was a tough win in a big case,” said partner Brent J. Savage, referring to his law partner’s jury verdict for more than $4.47 in a professional malpractice case over a strong Atlanta defense team. “We’ve now had two verdicts over $4 million in about two months.”

One of those verdicts reached $10 million. The Chatham County jury did exactly what was asked in our closing argument, awarding an eight figure verdict to the victim of a violent sexual assault.

Following the big jury verdict, Bart Turner handled another case that settled at mediation for more than $4 million.

Earlier this year, Brent Savage settled a significant bad faith case. This month alone, Mr. Savage fought for a $315,000 jury verdict for an injured minister and settled another case filed in federal court for more than $2 million.

Kathryn H. Pinckney, a partner at the firm who argued a case in front of the Supreme Court of Georgia earlier this year on a critical question of complex civil procedure, knows the uphill battle our clients will continue to face. But she’s optimistic.

“We are well-positioned to continue to get results for our clients.” Ms. Pinckney said. “But it’s a long road. We’ll keep fighting.”
