Jim Wilson has recently joined the firm from a long career in business. He grew up in Atlanta where he attended The Lovett School from 3-12 grade, graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia and Emory University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review.
Following a clerkship with Chief Judge Elbert Tuttle of the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Jim joined Jones, Bird and Howell (now Alston & Bird), where he specialized in finance. He then joined Albritton Energy, initially as its General Counsel and then becoming its President. His forty year career in real estate spanned every product type, all across the southern US. Some of the prominent projects he lead were Castle Pines, a 3000 acre mixed use, “Jack Nicklaus” golf course development in Colorado and Fountain Place, a sixty story IM Pei designed office building in Dallas, Texas. He was also part of the initial investment group that started Callaway Golf.
Jim serves on the Foundation Board of the University of Virginia School of Architecture, the CityLab School of Dallas, Texas and is a former member of the Board of Visitors of Emory University.
Jim has been married 45 years to Sally and they have three daughters: Martha Williams of St Simons Island, Ga., Sarah McGoohan of San Francisco, Ca. and Kate Hinckley of Dallas, Tx. They are blessed with 9 grandchildren!
